One evening my boy complained of feeling very badly...

One evening my boy complained of feeling very badly; I suggested that he lie down and let me read to him. I got my book, Science and Health, and tried to read, but a sense of fear seemed to overpower me. I tried to repeat the 91st Psalm, but his cries of distress confused me, until I closed my eyes and earnestly declared the truth. Immediately there came to me Mrs. Eddy's beautiful hymn, "Shepherd, show me how to go" (Miscellaneous Writings, p. 397), and I sang it as I never had before,—for with each word came a glorious "Peace, be still," and before I had finished the last verse my boy had ceased tossing and moaning and went to sleep. He slept well all night, and next morning he got up bright and happy. It seemed then that this shadow had been merely a nightmare. Tears of joy came to my eyes as I realized what a wealth of love our dear Leader has made known to us.
