Every Scientist is glad to express gratitude for the understanding of divine Love received through Christian Science. I wish to tell of the great joy that has come to me in the past year and a half through this knowledge of God. From childhood I was in bondage to disease. At sixteen I was a frail girl under the care of physicians who said that I had organic heart trouble, also weak lungs and poor blood. I was sorely afflicted, and although my health improved during four years at college, another disease slowly crept upon me. When I returned home one leg wasted away until it was much smaller than the other, and I limped badly. I went to specialists, who said the leg would always be withered and weak. All of the old symptoms were aggravated and worse than ever before.

Two years more passed, in which my misery seemed to increase, and then I was led to go to a Christian Science practitioner. I took one treatment and bought a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and returned home lighthearted. My troubles left me one after the other. I can scarcely tell which went first, I only know that I felt free for the first time in my life, and I was happy because I did not limp and because my limb was strong and perfect. Ever since then I have sought to gain a better understanding of this truth, but never had the opportunity to attend regular Science services until I came here. When I first came I suffered from an attack which was attended with all the symptoms that once made me so miserable, and caused my people days of anxious watching and nights of broken rest. I sent for a practitioner and was soon able to be out again. I have been perfectly well ever since and know this last victory has meant much to me.

I am grateful to our loving Leader and desire to express my gratitude in right thinking and right living; in following the Master faithfully and in reflecting Truth and Love.
