Several
years before I became a member of The Mother Church of Christ, Scientist, I had an experience which I have often wished to record, yet I have hesitated because human language seems so feeble an expression of those things which we have seen and handled of the Word of Life.

people are much given to the free expression of their religious beliefs, and so far as these statements are demonstrated to be true, or so far as they express the logical sequence of an unquestioned truth, even if not thus demonstrated, they have an ethical and educational value.
The
question is sometimes asked by those who are looking into Christian Science, If this truth is contained in the Bible, why is Science and Health needed?

As it is a little over a year since my attention was directed to Christian Science, and having received so much help from articles and testimonies in our periodicals, I send this in the hope of aiding some one who is looking for better things.
Christian Science was brought to my attention some years ago, and although I read "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," I then failed to receive a right understanding of the truth revealed in the grand exposition of Christ's teaching.
Some time ago I awoke feeling very ill,—my throat seemed to be in a very bad condition, and as time passed on it appeared to be gradually growing worse.
I desire to express in some small measure my ever-increasing sense of gratitude for the blessings which Christian Science has shed upon my earthly path, in bringing me out of darkness into Truth's eternal day, enabling me to understand the Bible and how to divide the words of Truth aright.
Having read the Sentinel and Journal for the past four years, and having received so much help from the encouraging testimonies that come from nearly all parts of the world, we wish to add ours.
From early childhood I was considered very delicate, and was held in bondage by that belief until my freedom came through Christian Science, many years later.
