The reading of an article in the September Journal entitled "A Protecting Religion," demonstrated to me at least how necessary it is to be fortified with that preventive. I am running a locomotive on a fast run, but have no fear, knowing that God is All in all, in whom we live, move, and have our being. The accidents on the most of our roads of late years have been fearful. From my own experience, I am safe in saying that if all engineers were Christian Scientists the casualties would be reduced to a minimum if not done away with entirely, and besides in place of men growing old they would become consciously younger.
I have been running an engine nearly thirty-four years. Six years ago when I took up Christian Science, I was a physical wreck. I feel at least ten years younger to-day, and can stand more fatigue than men not half my age. It is strange that there are not more men in the transportation department of our roads who have an understanding of Truth as revealed in Christian Science. I am the only engineer running into this place who adheres to this teaching, but one with God is a majority.
W. M. Camp, Clinton, III.
