"The loss of earthly hopes and pleasures brightens the ascending path of many a heart" (Science and Health, p. 265). All earthly hopes and pleasures had fled when Christian Science found me, and I had only one desire left, and that was to know God's will. I soon saw that it was not God's will that I must suffer, but that God is Love, "with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning," and the peace that the world cannot give or take away came to me then.
