Heal the Sick
Jesus' success in healing the sick and his exhortation to his followers to do the works that he did, point to the true test of Christianity, and it is only as Christian Scientists are able to measure up to his standard that they know that they are his present-day followers.
"Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," the text-book of Christian Science, is insistent in its endeavor to awaken the world to this healing gospel of our Master, and the By-laws of the Mother Church make urgent appeal to Christian Scientists in the following words: "Healing the sick and the sinner with truth, demonstrates what we affirm of Christian Science" (Church Manual, p. 85).
Other work for the Cause may engross the attention of Christian Scientist, but the paramount importance of this healing ministry cannot be lost sight of by them if the world is to receive the full benefit, and the Cause of Truth is to be advanced. That this healing work is being done is proved by the testimonies which appear in our periodicals.
