The Events of the Week

There are times when we wish the Sentinel might be greatly enlarged, and this is one of those times.

We appreciate the keen interest of the Field in the Communion and Annual Meeting of the Mother Church, and because of this great interest, we have endeavored to give in the present issue of the Sentinel a condensed report of these events, and we sincerely hope that, notwithstanding the brevity to which our limited space forces us, we have not altogether failed to convey to our readers some measure of the loving Christian fellowship which has so largely characterized these assemblages. The deeply religious and devotional aspect of these meetings has given rise to much favorable comment, and it has been freely recognized that these people came together with the love of God in their hearts.

A very pleasant incident of the week was our Leader's invitation to those assembled in Boston to visit and inspect the new church in Concord. The invitation was joyfully accepted and much pleasure was added to the occasion by the presence of Mrs. Eddy, who greeted her visitors from her carriage and presented to the Mother Church through its president, Mr. Edward P. Bates, a token of her love.
