I am glad of the privilege of giving my testimony of healing through the ministry of Christian Science. I was healed of nervous prostration brought on by grief and trouble. I had suffered from a torpid liver and constantly used liver-pills. A neighbor called to see me, and from her I had the first treatment. When I was healed the first thing I did after getting out of bed was to empty my medicine chest and burn all my prescriptions. I am a graduate of the Orthopædic Hospital of Philadelphia, and for four years previous to this I had practised message, but about every three months I had to give up work and take medical treatment and rest, or try a change of climate.
The physical disability is but part of the burden which has been removed from my life. In fact, life to me had been a complete disappointment. Every aspiration seemed to be made impossible of achievement, until it seemed that failure was the only result. Now this is gradually changing, as I am proving that Life is God, and I, as God's child, must reflect wisdom, strength, and endurance, and that it is a joy to live. I have learned that God's law involves progression and that success is the sure result of worthy endeavor.
I am deeply grateful to those who have helped me in Christian Science; first to Mrs. Eddy, through whose purity and self-sacrifice this wonderful religion is given to the world, to my neighbor and first helper, to the teacher from whom I had class instruction, and for the Sentinel and Journal which bring us their cheering messages.
