I wish to express my gratitude to our beloved Leader...
I wish to express my gratitude to our beloved Leader Mrs. Eddy, for this wondrous truth, called Christian Science. It is nearly ten years since I was healed by it of what the doctors called chronic indigestion, inactive liver, heart trouble, and several other diseases which made life a burden.
Three of the best doctors in this city attended me and could do no more for me. The minister of my church and his wife were among my best friends, and they called on me very often. When he learned that the doctors said I could not live much longer, he told me what he had heard of Christian Science. He did not know much about it, but he knew of a case of insanity that had been cured without any medicine, and said if I would try it he would bring the lady to my house, as I was too weak to step out of doors. For two weeks I had been confined to the room, and had been a sufferer for six years. I accepted his kind offer, and next day he brought a practitioner. I was helped almost instantly, but I was treated for some time, and all my ailments were overcome.
It seems useless to try to explain what Christian Science has done for me and mine, but my heart overflows with gratitude for the many blessings that have come to us through this truth. Of course the healing of my body seemed the greatest to those around me, but the unspeakable joy and peace, the knowing,—not only believing,—the realization that God is All, that Love is Life, and God is All, that Love is Life, and God is Love, filled me to the brim, and is the greatest to me. Only in such a condition was I enabled to stand the many trials that I had to go through, but all the different trials have proven Christian Science to be an ever-present help in time if need. During this year, diphtheria, measles, scarlet fever, are the diseases that have been healed by Christian Science in my family. I cannot enumerate the many times we have been helped, and I do not see how anybody can do without this truth.—Mrs. Anderson, Austin, Tex.
