"The basis of Christian Science is the Scriptural teaching...

Montgomery (Ia.) Republican

"The basis of Christian Science is the Scriptural teaching that God is All in all, that God and His creation constitute the only reality, that God is Spirit, and His creation spiritual, hence in reality there is no matter." The whole question resolves itself into a difference of opinion as to what constitutes "reality." The materialist says, all is matter: the Christian Scientist says, all is Mind, and Mind's (God's) idea.

This does not deny reality, but affirms it on a substantial, positive, enduring, and scientific basis. Instead of taking away "reality." it establishes reality, and recognizes all things in God's creation as substantially real, eternally real and spiritual.
