Reflection

"Recollect that Science reveals Spirit, Soul, as not in the body, and God as not in man, but as reflected by man" (Science and Health, p. 467).

How this statement puzzled me at one time, and how diligently I searched for some symbol by which to comprehend it clearly. True, Mrs. Eddy had given us an illustration in the mirror, but it seemed to keep my thought on my own personality, and my comprehension of the subject was by no means clear.

This state of mind continued for several days, when one morning, as I was sitting in my room with Science and Health on my lap, endeavoring to realize the true meaning of reflection, I closed my eyes, and instantly the picture gallery of memory was opened. Before my mental vision, spread in all its beauty, was a favorite spot at my childhood's home.
