I would like to tell of an incident that happened to me at school two years ago last October. I was in a football game between the first and second teams. I was playing center on the second team, and as they were trying very hard to get through our center, it was up to me to stop it if I could, and I did so for the first down, but on the second down the full back on the first team stepped on my left hip, and to sense broke all the cords and ligaments in my hip.

After they got up I crawled out from the pile the best I could, and finally, with the help of another fellow, I got up. At first they wanted to stop playing, but I said, "No: go on: I am all right and can get along all right." So they did, and with the help of another fellow I got off the field and took my football clothes and went to my room and then to bed.
