As I had been placed in the ranks of the so-called incurables, I feel that if such as I keep still, "the stones would immediately cry out."

I was attracted to Christian Science by the spiritual benefit received by my brother, but I was very skeptical about the physical healing and especially resented the application of Christian Science to children.

This human opinion was of course founded on ignorance of Christian Science, but I had a great desire to be tolerant and thought if grown people believed and trusted in it they should be unmolested in their attempt to worship God according to the dictates of their own conscience. In my heart I really pitied them. I said it is too good to be true.
