The Healing Truth always at Hand
Jesus came pre-eminently to heal the sick and to cast out sin and death. If this work was to be done through material means, could anything short of a thorough diagnosis and classification of all diseases, and a definite pointing out of each remedy designated for the removal of each particular disease,—would anything short of this, I say, have been a complete work?
All admit that the work of Jesus was complete. If complete, then surely it must contain a perfect system, and it is self-evident that that system was not material, for we cannot put finger on one disease and point to a drug which Jesus used in healing.
It is thus very evident that this is not what Jesus meant us to do when he said, "Heal the sick."
That a perfect system of healing was taught by him, none will deny. That Jesus expected all who called themselves his followers to use this system is very evident Since we must admit these two propositions, we must conclude that it is possible to know and use this system now, to-day, since we as Christians claim to be his followers, and would in all loyalty follow in every essential that he taught.
Christian Scientists do recognize this and have in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker G. Eddy the explanation of the Christ method of healing. All Christian Scientists apply this truth to every discord and find that in so far as it is understood it is just as emphatically unfailing as in Jesus' time.
