I should like to give a proof of our Father's loving care...

I should like to give a proof of our Father's loving care for His children which came to me recently, with the hope that it may help some other mother who, like myself, is obliged to fill the place of both father and mother, and may at times find the problems of this life perplexing and discouraging.

Circumstances arose which seemingly made it impossible for me to meet an obligation which it was both right and necessary that I should meet, and I became very anxious about it, for error said, "You cannot do it. What are you going to do?" The tears came to my eyes, but just at that moment the substance of the words of a kind Science friend came to my mind, "God does not make His sun to shine upon others and not on you." Immediately I brushed away the tears and realized the truth that I was God's child, and His children could meet all their honest obligations, for He has provided an abundance for all. If to mortal sense the way did not seem clear, it was clear, and I would trust Him. Before I retired that night a way was provided which made it possible for me to realize a part of the necessary amount, and within three days the entire sum, and even more, was provided in ways wholly unexpected by me.

Surely "divine Love always has met, and always will meet, every human need" (Science and Health, p. 494). As our dear Leader tells us, let us not give way to discouragement, but trust in God, without whose knowledge not even a sparrow falls to the ground. It is only a short time since Love guided me to seek the truth in Christian Science, and since then life has assumed an entirely different aspect, and I know that it will continue to grow brighter as I come into a better understanding of this blessed truth and my heart is filled with gratitude to God and to our dear Leader,—His messenger to us.—G., Hartford, Conn.
