From the age of five years I was subject to nervous attacks...

From the age of five years I was subject to nervous attacks which later were pronounced by the medical fraternity epilepsy. These attacks increased in frequency until they became periodical, disabling me for two or more days at a time. My parents meanwhile were striving to get relief from the trouble which hung over my young life, interfering with my education and handicapping me in everything I tried to do.

While some of the remedies used seemed to produce temporary help, no permanent cure came until two years ago I was induced by a friend to try Christian Science. So my mother and I took two weeks' treatment, as it was thought that my mother needed help as much as I did, on account of the fear she continually held over me. As a result of this treatment she left me in the city to go to work, and returned to her home some ninety miles away, meanwhile suffering no anxiety or apprehension on my account.

I never have had an attack of the trouble since taking the treatments, thought the last attack I suffered previous to taking treatment seemed the most severe one of my life.
