"Freely ye have received, freely give"

The large and steady increase in the ranks of Christian Scientists has been for years a subject of comment, and there is always more or less question on the part of the general public as to why this gain in numbers should continue. The testimony offered by Christian Scientists, by those who have identified themselves with the movement, is the best evidence upon which a correct judgment can be based. The testimony of these people is that, through the writings and teachings of Mrs. Eddy, they have found an understanding of God which heals and satisfies, an understanding which accords with the gospel of Jesus and the early Christians.

The following extract from a testimony published in a recent issue of the Sentinel is a sufficient answer to this general inquiry:—

"Christian Science was brought to my notice about six years ago, and I was healed of many diseases which medicine failed to help. I had tried all medical aid, but I was a total wreck, a victim for the grave, when Christian Science came to my rescue. As man's extremity is God's opportunity, so it was in my case. I was willing to try or sacrifice anything, so great was my suffering, and with one treatment I was healed.
