She did not Withhold the Truth
In the shoe department of a large business house this little conversation took place between a young woman purchaser and the pleasant salesman, who said, "How are the folks?" with rather more than usual interest.
"Well," she replied, "papa is always well and happy and the picture of health, although he is over seventy years of age; but papa was very feeble for many years."
"How do you account for his being so much better?" asked the young man, as he busied himself with the sale.
"Oh," she answered, "papa is a Christian Scientist."
"Yes," said he, "I know he is, I see him often at our church."
"Your church?" she said, with a little start of surprise. "Why, I didn't know you were a Christian Scientist, but I'm telling you a fact. I don't know anything about Christian Science myself, mamma and sister and sister and I are members of the Baptist Church, where papa was a member for many years."
The world is looking at us.
