It came to me quite suddenly not long ago that it meant something to give one's first fruits as a freewill offering, and the withholding of them showed a lack of appreciation, and ingratitude for good things received. Error has tried to keep me from sending in these first fruits through a sense of their seeming smallness; but, as no manifestation of Truth is small, that error was silenced. Every ray of light shed upon mental darkness, lessens that darkness, whether the individual realizes it or not.
A short time after moving to this town, about a year and a half ago, a woman was brought to me for treatment. She had complained of general weakness, backache, etc., and was unable to run up and down stairs without pain, or to take as much exercise as she wished. She had five treatments in all, and sent me word that she was all right; could go up and down stairs without discomfort, and felt well; and she unhesitatingly attributed the change to Christian Science.
Another case was that of inflammatory rheumatism in the knee-joint; the limb had become shortened. In less than two weeks' treatment the diseased condition disappeared, and although mortal mind declared that cold, damp weather would bring back the trouble, it never returned. A case of weak eyes from which the patient was suffering was also cured.
