Each seek when the Sentinel comes with its load of good...
Each seek when the Sentinel comes with its load of good cheer, and each month when the Journal double freighted brings its messages, I think I will surely tell the Field of what has seemed to me my greatest demonstration because of the great fear I had at the time, and because I have never been afraid to trust anything to Christian Science since. Shortly after I took up the study, and while yet standing on the brink of undecided acceptance, our little son, seven years old, came running in screaming at the top of his voice. I knew at once he was very seriously hurt, as he never cried unless there was very good cause.
I took him up and saw that his ear was bloody, the lobe being torn somewhat. I got water to wash it, and seeing some blood behind the ear took hold so that I could wash behind it. To my horror it lifted right off, only being attached by about an inch at the top. My first sensation of fear was so intense as to cause me to burst into tears. Of course that started the child again. Then I determined to run with him several blocks to a practitioner; then the thought, God is here with me just as with the practitioner. I took him and began to read Science and Health, and in a few minutes he wanted to go out to play. I was still somewhat fearful, but he insisted and I let him go, and after reading a little, I went about my work. The healing was so well done, that the next day, the ear was firmly attached, and the tear could not be seen from the front of the ear save in the thinnest spot. Words cannot express our gratitude to God that one in this age is pure enough to reveal to us this wonderful truth.—Lillian Oswald, Moulton, Iowa.
