The Agricultural Department is to have a model farm situated just across the Potomac. It will embrace that part of the Arlington estate not used for the National Cemetery, amounting to about four hundred acres and bordering on the river. It is the purpose of Secretary Wilson to make it an attraction for farmers, not only of the United States, but from all over the world. There will be model farm buildings, a model orchard, and all sorts of crops, standard and new.
Of the three hundred and eighty-six members who will comprise the next House of Representatives, two hundred and eighty-three of the present House have been renominated. A large majority of these renominations are in districts that practically insure their election.
It is probable that the Civil Commission will increase the Philippine appropriation for the St. Louis Exposition by one hundred thousand dollars, making the total three hundred and fifty thousand dollars.
