Boston, February 1, 1900.
To the Editor of the Globe:—
In your issue of the 26th I note a report of a criticism on Christian Science by Rev. George H. Wallace. This report states in substance that Christian Science perverts the Scriptures and denies the sacrificial atonement of Christ.
I know of no better way of answering this charge than to give a brief definition of the atonement as I understand it under the light of Christian Science. For a more comprehensive and satisfactory definition of the atonement I would refer to our text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker G. Eddy.
