Ocean promise

Say goodbye to the ocean song,
Farewell to the shimmering sea;
Return with faith to the inland,
Where the waves are a memory.

But say not farewell to the force
      of Truth
Discerned in your walks by the sea,
For there’s no letting go of that flow
As it washes your thinking free.

The sea is the face of infinity,
Its waves Love’s persistent care,
Its tides the call of constancy,
Its crash a song of power.

And Love never ceases its song
      to you—
Let it overturn the night!
Let it echo the sound of eternity
And carry you on crests of light.
