A winter heart

When the earth inclines its axis
to warm its other half
because the equinox is over,
it brings to mind
the all-embracing activity of our Father.

When the whiteness of winter
draws sky and land together
to unify the season in one color,
it brings to mind
the tenderness of our inseparable Mother.

When snowflakes softly powder
my windowpane,
they bring to mind
we are cuddled by the divine
Comforter
right in the heart of winter.
