"I AM HEALED"
I enjoy eating food and have fun preparing the beautiful dishes pictured in cooking magazines. But this hasn't always been the case. As a small child I would often eat only bread because other foods made me sick.
It didn't matter when I ate or whether I had vegetables, meat, or fruit. The result would be pain for hours. I was given many home remedies, but none of them helped. In boot camp I was told that I had to eat or I would be discharged. So I started using willpower and cigarette smoking to control the sickness. Later, when friends would invite me out to eat, I would stay home because I was afraid of becoming ill.
Then I started studying Science and Health and applying the laws of God in my life. After I had been doing this for a while, I guess I forgot to be afraid, because I started having a great time going out and eating anything without getting ill. I was even eating pizza and spicy foods. But one day after lunch with a friend, I did begin to get ill. The fear returned, and the pain put me on my knees. Crawling to the restroom, I kept saying over and over, "I will be healed." Then I realized that Science and Health points out that God's child can never be sick. I began affirming out loud, "I am healed" until I was able to walk back to my desk and resume my work.
