HEALED BY GOD'S INEXHAUSTIBLE GOODNESS

A year ago, I was suffering from a serious stomach ailment. Normal eating habits were impossible, and severe weight loss ensued. Breathing was difficult. I relied solely on God's means for healing through Christian Science. Spiritual ideas truly became my "bread of Life."

I set out each day sincerely to "seek ... first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness," confident that what tangibly needed to "be added" to sustain and maintain my health would be provided (see Matt. 6:33). Little by little, I was able to take more nourishment each day. Not only did my appetite and weight ultimately assume normalcy, but a large tumor on one side of my abdomen began to dissipate until it finally dissolved. I gratefully learned from firsthand experience that life is not organic and that disease is never a reality.

Through the study of Christian Science, one gains a spiritual estimation of substance as Spirit and as good. Consequently, we are supplied with good in proportion as we love Spirit, God, and acknowledge Him as the inexhaustible source of all goodness. Science and Health puts it this way: "Our bread, 'which cometh down from heaven,' is Truth" (p. 35). This truth sustained and healed me.
