for teens

Dear Molly

What a great "Dear Sentinel" letter you wrote last summer (see Sentinel, June 8, p. 19) when you told about the answers you're finding in Christian Science. Then you said, "I only wish that more people my age would take the time to investigate this wonderful truth." This is my wish, too, here in Australia, where I live. I feel as though your story is answered prayer.

Your letter inspires and renews faith in the ability of God to reach into teen hearts and open them to Him. I like your idea of closed-to-God, confused teenagers being gently washed with the truth of their innate spirituality.

One way you and I can help other people your age investigate the truth is for us to see them as spiritually tuned children of God. Each one, whether he or she knows it or not, is, in truth, the image of God. No matter how far anyone seems to be from recognizing it, divine Love is right there—right where that person's thought is—speaking to him or her in an understandable way, a way that can be felt and expressed. This is the beauty of the Word of God. It is always there and always appropriate. And if we are supposed to say something—to voice God's Word—there's nothing to keep us from doing so.
