One night as I was preparing for bed, I suddenly became ill. My husband talked to me, and I tried to answer him, but my speech was affected, and he found it difficult to understand me. He immediately began to declare the unreality of the situation and my unbroken relationship to God in Science. The next morning he called a Christian Science practitioner. In a few moments I regained my sense of balance. But for three or four days I seemed to have lost all coordination of speech and movement.

Mrs. Eddy writes in Science and Health (p. 151), "The divine Mind that made man maintains His own image and likeness"; and further in the same paragraph, "All that really exists is the divine Mind and its idea, and in this Mind the entire being is found harmonious and eternal." I held to this passage and also saw that imperfection is no part of God's perfect idea.

In a few days I was able to assume a part of my regular duties. Within a week my sense of control came back, and from that time on I was able to attend to all my household duties, drive my car, and once again attend committee meetings at our branch church.
