I am wholeheartedly grateful that I was led to Christian Science and that I have been privileged to receive an understanding of God, which has so surely led and guided me from that time on.

Throughout our family we have experienced much good and have had lovely healings through Christian Science. The understanding of Life as God gave me special comfort when my dear husband, to whom I had been married fifty years, passed on.

At one time I was having hemorrhages, and they were increasing. Because this type of disease is very much feared, I asked a Christian Science practitioner for treatment. She told me not to have any fear, that it was all serving to purge and purify me, and that the experience would lead me to a higher sense of good. The practitioner then referred me to passages from the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, which I joyously read and absorbed. For example, on page 241: "The baptism of Spirit, washing the body of all the impurities of flesh, signifies that the pure in heart see God and are approaching spiritual Life and its demonstration." And from the Bible I held to the passage from John (15:3): "Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you."
