I wish to express in this testimony my gratitude for divine Love's sustaining power in times of difficulty and for the angel messages that have come to me in answer to prayer—often as if God had spoken to me.
During an air raid in the Second World War, I was wounded and bleeding very profusely. Lying there helpless, I felt I was losing consciousness and might pass on before being found. Suddenly I realized that I was not applying Christian Science. As I reached out to God for help the Lord's Prayer and the twenty-third Psalm, with their spiritual interpretations as given in the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, came to me vividly. One line of the Lord's Prayer with its interpretation reads (p. 16):
