REGENERATION

My lips, from which too often fell
Barbed words to wound those whom You bless,
Have learned to taste the miracle
Of living waters, and profess

Regeneration's magnitude.
Now having wakened and emerged
From mortal senses that delude,
I stand magnificently purged.

The baseless mind that summons up
Unworthy thoughts, and worse acquires,
Has vanished since I drank the cup
That purifies all vain desires.
