About seven years ago a friend invited me to a Christian Science lecture. I knew practically nothing of this religion. No one in my family had ever attended a Church of Christ, Scientist. In fact, I didn't even know studying the Bible was a part of Christian Science.

The lecture turned out to be the beginning of a new way of life for me. I had been experiencing a condition labeled anxiety by the medical profession, and although I had three lovely children and a wonderful husband, there seemed to be day after day of purposeless existence and a deep sense of fear of the future. I know now that this was simply mortal mind running rampant. I was forced to reach out to God, and I prayed humbly for His help.

After the lecture I decided to phone a practitioner to learn more about what the speaker had said and to obtain copies of the periodicals. The practitioner was very patient with all my questions, and I left this first visit with a deep feeling of the presence of good. Although I knew not why or how, nevertheless it was there.
