"God's work is done"

On one occasion when a patient consulted a Christian Science practitioner, he was startled by her declaration, "God's work is done."

"If God's work is done," he thought, "how is He going to heal me?" At that time he had not reached the understanding that God's work is already entirely perfect and that nothing can change it.

Mrs. Eddy states of God, "His work is done, and we have only to avail ourselves of God's rule in order to receive His blessing, which enables us to work out our own salvation."Science and Health, p. 3; A description of God's work is contained in the first chapter of Genesis. The Bible writer declares of this work, "God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good.'' Gen. 1:31;
