The Power of a Good Example
There is little doubt that each of us who has felt in some measure the beneficent effect of Mrs. Eddy's discovery, Christian Science, has longed to follow his Leader's example and to bring the healing and liberating Truth to others, but perhaps for one reason or another he has felt diffident about doing so.
Some of the arguments come in such comments as: "My friends or colleagues don't want to know about Christian Science," "I cannot talk convincingly," or "I don't know anyone who'd be interested." These are not reasons at all, but irrelevant arguments of personal sense, and to accept them as true is to limit both ourselves and those whom we wish to bless.
The fact that we present Christian Science to others is of less importance than the manner in which we present it. This action requires our wholehearted consecration and devotion. We are missionaries, carrying the message of Christian Science wherever we go and wherever we are, not necessarily by word of mouth but by the manner of our everyday living.
