There is no more important statement in the entire Bible than the declaration (I John 4:8) that "God is love." This is something more than saying that God is lovable or that He manifests love for His creatures. We cannot think of anything existing without substance, and the Bible assures us that God's substance is love. ... We discover that love is God's will in action. ... Probably when we get down to the bottom of the matter, there is nothing in the universe but love, for God is love and God is the of the universe. ...
