An experience I had sometime...
An experience I had sometime ago made me humbly grateful for the truth that frees us even in an emergency. I was just finishing icing a cake when the fingers of one hand became caught in the electric mixer I was using, and I heard my voice crying aloud for help. The fingers were caught fast, and when they were finally released, they weren't a pretty sight.
I wrapped a towel around my hand and tried as best I could to deny the reality of pain, accident, carelessness, and so on, and to replace the error with the truth. Just then my son drove up, and I asked him to take me, with a plate of the cake, to my teacher of Christian Science. She saw the bandaged hand, and I told her what had happened.
At once, she began declaring the truth so clearly and positively that I became free of pain. I remained with her less than half an hour. I removed the bandage as soon as I left her home, and there was only a small trace of what had been a bad injury. My son and two neighbors, who knew what had happened, were deeply impressed.
