Over forty years ago while I was serving as a medical nurse in Boston, Massachusetts, I witnessed a very beautiful healing through Christian Science. I was deeply impressed with this demonstration of God's power and love.

About a year later I was preparing to go to Cuba with my husband, who was a sea captain. Before the ship left Boston, I was seized with a severe attack of an old spinal difficulty. My husband called a physician who said that I must be placed in a cast for at least six months. Because there was no room in the hospital, the cast could not be put on immediately.

I prayed for wisdom and guidance and my thought turned back to the healing I had witnessed through Christian Science treatment, and I knew that this was an answer to my prayer. The next day I took a taxi to a Christian Science Reading Room.
