Resurrection Demonstrates Progress
The resurrection of Christ Jesus is our assurance of victory over every claim of sin, disease, and death. It assures us that the evil we are now facing, whatever it may be, can be destroyed through the truth of perfect God and perfect man, as revealed in Christian Science. But in no instance can we regard such a victory as a mere restoration of that which seemed temporarily lost.
When Jesus reappeared to Mary Magdalene, she thought him to be the gardener. When he walked along the road to Emmaus with two of his disciples, they did not recognize him. And when he did make himself known to them, there was no hint that things would go on as they had before. There was no sense of business as usual, no suggestion that nothing had happened. There were new motives to express, new aims to pursue, new lives to live. And so it is with us today when a genuine healing comes.
