"The Bible Speaks to You"

"My strong antagonism to Christian Science was healed through listening to the radio programs."

This comment is typical of the responses from listeners to the transcribed radio series, "The Bible Speaks to You," in many parts of the world. Broadcast weekly on some eight hundred and fifty stations, the programs are heard regularly in the United States, Canada, Latin America, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Great Britain, and some European countries.

The programs are showing people of many religious backgrounds that Christian Science uplifts and makes practical the spiritual values fundamental to Christianity and that it has something vital to offer mankind in the solution of present-day problems.

Some representative samples of fruitage follow:

The pastor of an Evangelical church in Argentina writes, "I have been listening to your radion program with great interest, which moves me now to ask you to send me information regarding your doctrine and prayer."

From Kentucky a minister's wife explains, "I was under the impression that Christian Science was positive thinking and humanism—not the realizing of God's will and power to heal mind, body, and heart." And she adds, "Please send me several copies of the program."

In Virginia a young man who is studying for the ministry enjoyed the radio program, "You Don't Have to Drink." He writes: "It was very inspiring. Please send me that message and any information you have on your church."

From England a man reports that his daughter was healed of a physical difficulty as a result of the application of the spiritual truths he had heard in the broadcasts of "The Bible Speaks to You" from Radio Luxembourg. He says, "We are very grateful for these programmes, and our daughter listens with us and often remarks on the beauty of the experiences related in them."

A letter from Norway reads, "I listen regularly to your broadcasts over Radio Luxembourg and should like to learn more about your church."

The librarian of a Reading Room relates from Canada: "A visitor said that because she had heard some criticism of Christian Science, she began to listen to our broadcasts. She came into the Reading Room to get a few of the radio booklets, to ask questions, and to find out for herself more about our religion. She bought two issues of the Sentinel."

While visiting an airport Reading Room in California, a man remarked that he was attracted to Christian Science through "The Bible Speaks to You" programs. "They 'rang the bell,'" he said.

A Reading Room librarian in Texas writes: "One afternoon a mother and daughter came to the Reading Room to buy a copy of 'Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures' by Mary Baker Eddy and to get some of the folders mentioned on the radio. They told me that they were members of another church but wished to begin the study of Christian Science."

From the state of New York a listener sends this information: "I am not of your faith, but the Sunday program on prayer gave me much peace. Your words on God's preknowledge of our needs, and the assurance that He gives all we need, have filled me with new peace."

A letter from Alabama says: "I listen to your program every Sunday morning and enjoy it very much. Even though I am not a Christian Scientist, I do love to listen to your programs."

From Panama a listener writes: "I sometimes hear your programs on the radio, and I am blessed each time I do. I find new faith in God, and my courage to face life's problems is renewed."

A report from South Africa states, "A young woman has recently started to read Science and Health as a result of tuning in to one of our programs on the Lourenco Marques station quite by chance and listening to it."

From Australia a Committee on Publication writes: "A married couple with three children said that their interest in Christian Science was first aroused through listening to the radio programs. They are now church members, and their children attend the Sunday School."
