The Mission of the College Organization

[Of Special Interest to Young Men and Women]

Mrs. Eddy states in the Manual of The Mother Church, "Members in good standing with The Mother Church, who are members of the faculty, instructors, or students in any university or college, can form and conduct a Christian Science organization at such university or college, provided its rules so permit" (Art. XXIII, Sect. 8). Thus through Mrs. Eddy's foresight, a marvelous opportunity has been provided for the message of Christian Science to be spread in the college community.

The mission of a Christian Science college organization is to proclaim the presence and power of God's kingdom. As we continue to study the Bible and Mrs. Eddy's writings and live what we learn from our study, we are fulfilling our part in this mission.

It is a privilege to be a member of a college organization, to work in the Father's vineyard, for such spiritual activity brings about the new birth, concerning which Jesus said, "Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God" (John 3:5). Moreover, Christian Science is brought to the receptive thought as members of the college community observe the character, well-being, and progress of Christian Scientists.
