It is my earnest prayer that this testimony, submitted in deepest gratitude for Christian Science, will impel those seeking healing to persevere in their understanding of this religion until they too can say, "I find my life as God's own child" (Hymn No. 154, Christian Science Hymnal), and the mists are dispersed by the discernment of man as God's perfect expression of Himself.

One early summer afternoon I was alone in our desert home in an outlying section of the town. While doing some household chores, I was seized with a sudden and very acute pain throughout my entire body. There was only time for me to reach the divan before there were moments of intermittent unconsciousness. During the periods of consciousness, I found myself dwelling on these words: "God is my Life." While able, I pondered and repeated them constantly, endeavoring to gain the full import of their meaning. The pain, which was intense, was aggravated by the lightest weight of clothing. Earnestly I prayed to know the truth of my being and to maintain this knowledge.

In about a half hour the first verse of Hymn No. 154 came to my thought. It says.
