"Testimony ... is highly important"

Followers of Mrs. Eddy realize how important it is to testify to the healing power of Christian Science. The Science which God revealed to the world through this spiritually inspired woman is the law by which the absolute perfection of God and man is interpreted in the language of human experience. This law must be attested by those who experience its operation. Testimony is essential to the completion of the mission of the revelator.

Christ Jesus considered it important that John the Baptist know that those who had been sick were no longer sick, and Jesus expected this testimony to verify who he was. John, sending two of his disciples, had asked, "Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?" (Luke 7: 20.) Jesus' reply was, "Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached."

Had one of us been chosen to go and tell John, would we not have done it with joy, bearing the good news that proved the Messiah had come? And are there not those honestly inquiring ones today yearning to know if there is a law of God which heals but doubting whether Christian Science is that law? We must go and tell them "what things [we] have seen and heard."
