SURVIVAL

What more dynamic than the cry,
"Come forth"? "Lazarus, come forth"!

What more important that came after
than "He is not here ...
he is risen"?

Even though evil seem
to triumph for an hour,
to submerge in dream,
to crush the flower
of manhood. Even though!
We have been shown
how omnipotent Mind
restores its own.

Where rank illusion
brings the multitude
to confusion,
one ray of holy light
will penetrate the black
of darkest night.

Come forth, come forth,
each Lazarus asleep!
Wrapped in stagnation,
hiding in the deep
caves of error.
Come home from fear,
from the alone; the grip
of icy terror.

Come forth into day!
Come hearing; come seeing
your own true being!
Come with conviction,
having accepted
the Resurrection.
