Christian Science was presented to my sister by a friend as a remedy for her family problems. When I started to read the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and began to study the Bible Lessons in the Christian Science Quarterly, I had no special reason for doing so. But divine Love was leading me into a new way of thinking.

I had been reared in a Protestant church. My mother was faithful in church attendance, taking her children with her. I held many church offices and took Bible study courses and Sunday School training work; but none of these inspired me to the daily study of the Bible as did my new interest in Christian Science.

I had two chronic ailments at that time which gradually disappeared. In fact, I had not recalled one for a long time until I began to count my blessings to write this testimony. That difficulty was lumbago, from which I had suffered on several occasions before finding Christian Science. The other was a susceptibility to head colds, which would last for weeks before they thoroughly cleared up. Many times a cough went with them. I did not win my freedom from colds quickly; but as I gained more understanding of the truth year by year, they gradually ceased to occur.
