Christian Science and Athletics
"The playing fields can serve to test spiritual attitudes
and understanding, as well as strength and skills"
For many young people athletics provide useful and wholesome outlets for natural energies. These activities bring satisfying adventure and achievement, and valuable lessons are learned in diligence, persistence, teamwork, and good sportsmanship. When the athlete is a student of Christian Science, there can be added zest and larger lessons. This religion is provable and helpful in every kind of right human endeavor, and the field of athletics is no exception.
