In February, 1960, I was having trouble with my eyes and consulted an oculist. After he had made a thorough examination, he told me that both eyes were affected with glaucoma. His verdict was confirmed by a specialist. According to the diagnosis of both men, I had to be prepared for the loss of my eyesight.

In my great distress a good friend, a Christian Science practitioner, came to see me. She explained something of Science and comforted me. On further visits I learned more about it from her. She taught me how to pray in Christian Science and how to study it, and the help and comfort she gave me strengthened my faith in God, so that gradually I regained peace and harmony.

Being a new student of Science, I felt I needed confirmation that the healing had actually taken place. So I returned to the specialist and asked him to examine my eyes again. When he looked at them, he said, "Your eyes are just as though they had never been afflicted with glaucoma!" This healing made me very happy and also grateful to God for Christian Science and to the practitioner for her effective treatment.
