When I was a small child my parents traveled to the other side of the world to start a new life in what was to them a strange country. They had very little money, no home, no position, and no friends. It was through my mother's positive stand for the truth as taught in Christian Science that the following came into our experience.

On one occasion she read aloud and with conviction a sentence from the textbook, Science and Health, which reads (p. 494), "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need." This was at a time when the financial situation seemed particularly distressing, because my father had discovered that there was no opening for him in his line of business.

The occupant of the next room in the guest home where we were staying heard my mother read these words and recognized them. She introduced herself as a student of Christian Science and was instrumental in my father's being given a position which included a home. He was never again unemployed.
