I was introduced to Christian Science by a dear sister, who had been healed of a serious heart condition and stomach trouble. She was so eager to help me and so sure that Christian Science would solve all my problems that I at once took up the daily study of the weekly Lesson-Sermons from the Christian Science Quarterly. I found help and freedom from worry. The condition of lack began to disappear, and ever since, abundant supply has been my portion. Fear has been overcome, and many false traits of character have disappeared.

By my own prayerful work, I was healed in one night of a severe cold. I realized that man is spiritual, and I repeated understanding "the scientific statement of being" from page 468 of the textbook, Science and Health. Through the reading and study of the textbook and with the assistance of a practitioner, I was healed of a painful condition of the knee. I had to be off my feet for only two days. The same practitioner did prayerful work at the time of the passing on of my husband, and I was quickly freed from grief and a sense of loss and separation.

At one time a pan of boiling water splashed over my hand; but in a few minutes all signs of the burn had disappeared because of my understanding that "accidents are unknown to God, or immortal Mind, and we must leave the mortal basis of belief and unite with the one Mind, in order to change the notion of chance to the proper sense of God's unerring direction and thus bring out harmony" (ibid., p. 424).
