ARE YOU LOOKING FOR HELP?

"What will ye do in the day of visitation, and in the desolation which shall come from far? to whom will ye flee for help?" These questions were posed by the prophet Isaiah (10:3), and they are being re-echoed by millions today. Indeed, the paramount question of the hour is, "To whom will ye flee for help?"

Mankind are looking for help for myriad troubles ranging from fear of atomic destruction to human misunderstanding. They cry for respite from beliefs of sickness, loneliness, fear, grief, and lack. The help which is being offered for these ills is varied. Too often the antidotes at best merely offer temporary escape from one's troubles. And so the search goes on, and the question is asked, Is there positive, permanent help for me?

The Bible is replete with promises of God's help for all kinds of trouble. The Psalmist gave a concise, convincing statement of divine help when he wrote (Ps. 46:1), "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." Such a declaration is of little value, however, unless one has the right concept of God.
