THINKING A THING THROUGH

The ability to think a thing through from premise to conclusion is satisfying. Proper education tends to free human consciousness from former limitations of perspective, as thinking takes on new and more expansive mental horizons. But spiritual thinkers consider things in their relation to Deity, the creator and originator of everything real and true.

It was the ability to think a thing through which enabled Mrs. Eddy to discover the law of God, the law of good, which she named Christian Science. This law which she discovered is the law which Christ Jesus used unfailingly in his healing ministry.

Referring to her consecrated endeavors to discover how the Master healed those who sought his aid, and her subsequent discovery of the same law, our Leader writes in her book "Retrospection and Introspection" (p. 23): "When the door opened, I was waiting and watching; and, lo, the bridegroom came! The character of the Christ was illuminated by the midnight torches of Spirit. My heart knew its Redeemer."
